teaching owners to understand their pets better
In order to teach our pets new skills or change the way they react to certain aspects in their lives we need to understand what drives their behaviour. Here at Mischief Managed we keep your pets at the forefront of our mind to help you achieve your goals.
Who am I?
I’m Rebecca, a professional trainer in Taunton and Bridgwater. I have been working with animals for over 15 years, using reward, evidence based training methods only.
I have been working with animals for over 15 years, firstly at a veterinary practice as well as a boarding kennels and cattery before going to university where I gained my BSc (Hons) in Animal Science from The University of Nottingham, graduating with a 2:1.
From here I went on to work for Mars Petcare where I trained dogs and cats using reward based training methods only. Here I gained more experience in training cats. During my 5 years at Mars Petcare I increased my skills in training people how to train animals and now have a passion for helping owners to understand their dogs and cats better.
I moved down to Thurloxton, Somerset in 2022 and took the brave leap of creating my own business in order to help pet owner’s understand their pets better and help them achieve their training goals.
I passed thorough assessment processes to become a qualified dog trainer with the Institute of Modern Dog Training and the Association of Pet Dog Training (01663), Canine Hoopers UK, Dog Fit and England Athletics – in order to provide you with the most up to date, evidence based training support. I have a Leadership in Running Fitness qualification from England Athletics.
As a dog and cat owner, I enjoy training my own animals and have even taught my cats how to have their teeth brushed. I enjoyed training agility with my Border Collie Meg, however now she is older she is retired from agility and now enjoys doing hoopers instead! I also enjoy doing Canicross (running with your dog) with her, she is super fit for her age, and my absolute favourite running partner!
I am an avid runner and ran my first marathon in 2023, and completed London Marathon in 2024, with Paris Marathon booked for 2025. I love setting myself goals and challenges with my running and am dedicated to putting in time and effort to reaching those goals – much like dog training! You may see me running around local areas! I cover quite some distance on my long runs!
I enjoy expanding my knowledge in dog and cat behaviour and training and often have my head in a dog or cat behaviour book!
I am also a qualified dog first aider and am fully insured.
